Some airports cost much more to do business with than others. It’s generally true that the busier an airport is, the less it costs because of the volume of passengers.

When you want to save money, it can be helpful to look at the price that each airport in the area costs.

According to NetCredit, these are the highest and lowest averages for domestic fares in U.S. airports.

Lowest Domestic Fares

These airports have the lowest average fares in the U.S. for domestic flights. You might consider booking a trip that goes through one of these hubs to keep your costs as low as possible.

Orlando Sanford International, FL

Visiting the Orlando area? Try this highly inexpensive airport to arrive in. The average domestic fare at this airport costs only $143. That’s plenty of money saved that you can spend at Disney World.

St. Petersburg-Clearwater International, FL

With an average domestic fare of just $150, this airport can save you enough for some beachside drinks. It’s a great place to land if you’re headed for Florida sunshine.

Yes, the top three lowest-cost airports are all in Florida. So many people want to visit the Sunshine State that the volume of travelers has allowed for lower fares, with this airport costing just $158.

Atlantic City International, NJ

New Jersey has one of the highest population densities of any state, and it has a huge number of visitors. All of that volume has led to some of the lowest prices in the country at this airport, which is just $176.

It’s the dream of many to visit Hawaii. More than three million people a year visit the state, and many of them are from other states. Luckily, it’s inexpensive to fly there when you use this airport. The average price is just $189.

A great way to get out west, using this airport, costs an average of $195. It’s a small price to pay for all of the amazing desert scenery of the Phoenix area.

It’s New York, so you might expect to pay a lot, but you’d be wrong when it comes to this airport. The average fare costs about $254. It may be worth it to route your flight to this airport rather than a better-known one.

These airports will cost you the most in the country according to the average domestic fares. Many of these places are relatively remote, and the traffic to them may not result in lower fares.

Huntsville International, AL

The Rocket City is known for its rockets, but it’s almost as famous for its high airfares. It was once in the number one spot but has since fallen to number two with an average of $577.

With its isolated location that’s far from any major population centers, it’s easy to see why the Jackson Hole airport would be so expensive. It comes in at an average of $569.
