Sometimes, all it takes is a bit of change or an update to elevate the look and feel of your living spaces. It does not even have to cost you a pretty penny or take up a whole day’s worth of time to boost your indoor or outdoor living spaces.

It can be easy and simple, and to learn more about the minor updates you can implement to elevate your home instantly- indoors and out, read on.

If you find that your indoor or outdoor living spaces are feeling crowded with things that have lost their place, then perhaps it’s time to do a good old decluttering quest. It should instantly make any living space feel more livable.

Streamline Surfaces

If you have decluttered your areas but it still feels like there are too many things on your surfaces, then perhaps it’s time to take it a step further to streamline your surfaces.

Once you’ve decluttered and streamlined all your surfaces, it’s time to add some personality, preferably in a way that does reintroduce clutter. It can be anything from photos to coffee table books or something that is dear to you and makes you smile when you see it.

Plants

If you’d like to instantly freshen up your spaces, say hello to some indoor and outdoor plant additions. Sometimes, all it takes is one simple plant to boost any given area.

Mirrors can be added indoors and outdoors if you’d like to make an area feel bigger than it is. Mirrors are great in that they reflect light, and thanks to that, they create an optical illusion that makes space look bigger than it is.

Add Pops of Color

If you feel like a certain area of your home is feeling flat and dull, then the easiest way to give it a boost is to add a few pops of color. This can be done through the addition of a few brightly colored pillows or throws or even a quirky lampshade.

Let There Be Light

Sometimes when a certain living space is too dark, it can feel like the life is being sucked out of the area. To remedy this, you can try opening the blinds fully, and if this is not an option, you can also add an extra source of light, like a lamp or even a candle.

There are plenty of candle and lantern options that are also suitable for the outdoors.

Art

Art is another great way to elevate any living space. It doesn’t even have to be expensive, and luckily, there are tons of cheap and even DIY art options out there if you feel like getting the creative juices flowing.

One could say that bathrooms are equal parts utility and sanctuary. Essentially, they’re the place where you can light a candle and wind down from a long day, but at the same time, it’s the exact spot where most of your grooming and getting ready for your day (or bed) happens. In terms of aesthetics, we do want our bathrooms to feel welcoming and serene, but, at the same time, they need to be functional.
